I love this scene from a 1987 documentary.

Chuck Berry is having some artistic differences with Keith Richards when they rehearse "Oh Carol" together.

BTW, it is Chuck Berry's 90th birthday. Why did people stop buying his music? I can't even find any of his music he made after 1972 (the horrible novelty song..."my dingaling.")

A national treasure will be lost when he passes.

Because, if you've heard 1 Chuck Berry song, you've pretty much heard all the Chuck Berry songs. There's nothing wrong with that (ask AC/DC or ZZ Top) - BUT, at some point, you get diminishing returns.

But, there are 3 key figures in the formative period of what we currently call "Rock and Roll" - Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, and Elvis Presley - Louisiana, Missouri and Mississippi. The song, the guitar and the voice.

Long live rock and roll.
