That's just the J Mascis Jazzmaster that I guess they took his name off of. I have the Fender version from about 15 years ago. LINK

I would call it somewhat reminiscent of the MIJ JMJMs, but that’s about it.

I do wish they’d do a run of his Squier sig Jazzmaster in other colors than vintage white.

I could never really get into fender. Not saying they are garbage, they've just never really made anything i desperately wanted.
As a kid (10) my first legit guitar was almost a red 1980s Japanese strat. I wouldn't have argued, was in perfect condition and I should have got it for the price that was being asked in retrospect. $300 as the man selling it had 3 more and just wanted to get a metal detector for him and his son.
No way it would've still been in good condition nowadays though. But it would have personality.
