Brickyard south has good live music

Some good br or laffy based bands. I felt like I was in a time warp. Didn't know that there was a place for a punk scene here. Interesting crowd

Southside Arts Center is a music venue on Foster just north of Florida. They're just starting back up after being closed during covid, but they put on BYOB punk and metal shows. It's pretty much the go-to dive bar kinda venue for the alt music scene in BR. The nice venue is Mid City Ballroom over at Baton Rouge Music Exchange on Acadian between Government and North Blvd. The great outdoor venue, which stayed active for much of Covid, is Beauvior Park.
