Did Marvel actually release a Beatles comic in 78? I wasn't collecting at that time.

That's how it was labeled

Lot of Beatles nostalgia in '78, w/Sgt Pepper & Rutles movies (both of which flopped)

A classic worth searching for is the Beatle issue of Nat Lampoon from '77
