Dear Prudence…good Lord what a song. I don’t know how I overlooked this song for so long. Also have enjoyed the Siouxsie and the Banshees cover. The original is just so serene and begins winding up into a Helter Skelteresque breakdown but then levels out. Easily in my top 10 Beatles songs now.

Obsessives take note: that's the Canadian release of With The Beatles, which was retitled Beatlemania!

Written late '50s, recorded 1963, released 1995
I will never understand how this was deemed unworthy of release. I prefer it to their single "From Me To You" (cut at the same session)

I love that tune. John supposedly penned that when he was about 16.
I could never understand why they didn't like it.

In 1963, Lybro Jeans, a Liverpool clothing company, asked if The Beatles would endorse their product. It was The Beatles first (and last) venture into the world of commercial advertising, and they reluctantly agreed to a photoshoot.

On a comedic level, next time you watch Spinal Tap, listen to Nigel and David discussing their song "All The Way Home". That's straight out of "The Complete Beatles" movie. ...and an obvious homage to One After 909.
