Animal Collective "Time Skiffs" out Feb 4, 2022. New Single

Animal collective to release first studio album since 2016, "Time Skiffs" on Feb 4, 2022. New single, "Prestor John" is essentially two songs - one written by Avey Tare and one by Panda Bear. "Prestor John" features acoustic drums and bass...very unlike their previous work. It sounds like an actual band rather than a bunch of samples overlayed. It's a nice groove and I'm hoping we see more of that on the rest of the album.

New single is good. Looking forward to the new album.
Outside of a few tracks, I didn’t really care for Painting With. I have liked a lot of their recent solo output though (especially Sleep Cycle by Deakin), so hoping this is a return to form.

I actually liked Painting With, but it pales in comparison with Merriweather and Strawberry Jam.
Sleep Cycle is awesome. It may have been you who introduced me to it.

Another new single. Maybe the best one yet. This sounds like 2000s (peak) Animal Collective. This could be on Feels.

It doesn’t reach Feels/Strawberry Jam/MPP levels for me, but I really like Centipede. I can see why people wouldn’t care for it though. It was very busy and overstuffed.

Have really been enjoying this album over the past week. Not quite peak AC (Feels through MPP), but still pretty damn good. Strung With Everything is my favorite track, but a lot of winners on here and no real bad tracks. The closer could have easily fit in on Sleep Cycle.
