Alt-J - Hunger Of The Pine

Hunger of the Pine is their first single off their new album, This Is All Yours. It's a decent track and I like the Miley sample. I mean how can you not? Miley is the GOAT. I'm excited about this album but I have a feelings it will sound much different from An Awesome Wave.
An Awesome Wave was a phenomenal debut album from start to finish. Their song placement was perfect. However since then, bassist Gwil Sainsbury has left the band. You can definitely tell by their new single that his absence affects their sound tremendously. Hopefully the new album will be remotely as good as the first.

I'm also curious to see how the sophomore album turns out. I'd love to see them mature but stay in the same realm of what An Awesome Wave was. But I always wonder with these bands that take off so big after one album

That plus their bassist leaving is going to lead me to believe that it will be hard to compare to the first simply because it will be a different sound. You can tell in their new single.
I enjoy their music but they are strictly a studio band. Their live performances are pretty sub par but I do like that they played their album from beginning to end for the most part. That's how it should be played imo.
