Wow. The 80s didn't match the 60s or early 70s bit it was FAR from a musical wasteland. If you thought the 80s was a wasteland I can't imagine what you must think of the abysmal last 15+ years of music.

Far better than the late 80's but still not on a level with the 60's & 70's.

Rolling Stones

- They can't sing

Prince

-Don't get

KISS

-Don't get

Whitney Houston

-Screeching is unpleasant. So is adding fifteen syllables to every word.

U2

-Normally the lyrics are good (helped by getting talented people to write for them), but they ruin it.

Perfect example: North and South, one of my favorite songs. I hate them for ruining it for the majority of the world.

Awesome version by Christy Moore (who wrote it)

Alan Burke version

Here's U2's horrible version

I like music to be pleasing to listen to.

Please listen to Exile on Main St. From beginning to end. If you dislike, then there is no hope for you.

Agreed. That's the album that got me into the Stones and is still my favorite of theirs.

Agree with you on Radiohead, and Phish, disagree on REM. REM's music was markedly different than anything else when they came on the scene and I enjoyed it. I could see why some wouldn't though.
