Seriously. You can't say you know much about animation or Japanese cinema unless you've seen at least a few of his films.

Can't think of anything that was so great about it. Sure they kill off all the main characters and Unicron was cool, but thats really all it was. The film completely lack subtlety. That's really how I like most of my animation: they have subtle messages with greater purpose (Lion King is perhaps an exception). There's really no greater meaning to Transformers than robots socking each other in the fricking face.

Valid stance. I'm just a big transformers fan when I was young and then my older brother showed me this movie and it blew my mind. Soundtrack was the greatest thing I have ever heard.

OK, that is something great about that film. The soundtrack did kick all sorts of arse. I certainly don't dislike this film, I just find it ok. Its enjoyable enough for what it is and what it tries to be. I would put it ahead of any of the live action films actualy.

Thank you! I had somehow forgotten about this movie, but you brought it all back! I'm off to add it to my Amazon wish list!
I bought the DVD at Target for like five bucks last Christmas. You might want to check some of the local stores before going to Amazon. They re released it a few years ago.

Are you like 6? Bee Movie and Cars (and I have no idea what Monsters is, but I'm hoping Monsters Inc)? Watch more movies.
