What sales pitch do goons get that make it seem like a good idea?

Seriously, I want to know what guys like the Joker and other criminals pitch to the guys that end up working for them.

Joker: "Come work for me!"
Goon: "Awesome, you'll pay me a ton of money right?"
J: "Nope, gonna burn it."
G: "Uh... okay, health benefits or something?"
J: "Sure! If you get sick, I'll shoot you! Well, I'll probably end up shooting you because Batman looked at me funny, but whatever."
G: "So... what's in this for me?"
J: "A criminal record if you somehow survive, and a beating from a man who has more money sunk into his belt than you'll see in your lifetime!"
