What is the 2nd best summer camp movie of the 90s?

Heavyweights is obviously the undisputed winner, based on its high quotability and meme potential, as well as the all-time performance of Ben Stiller. So with it out of the running, allow me to present the contenders for runner-up:

Most people only read the titles of these threads then post.

I just rewatched Heavyweights because of this topic. I still think Tony Perkis and White Goodman are the same person. Deep down, I think Stiller knows it too.

It would also be a good topic to rank the best summer camp movies overall. Ernest Goes to Camp I think is still the gold standard. It's not as funny as heavyweights and doesn't have the Same kind of loaded cast, it's a better movie I think, slightly.

Meatballs will also get lots of arguments but it was before my time.

I looked at the gifs and realized none of them was stiller.

Then made the comment.

It's been a long time since I watched Earnest Goes to Camp, but it was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Remained funny over and over.

I only watched Meatballs once or twice and couldn't tell you much more than the "North Star CITs" song or Bill Murray's "It just doesn't matter!" monologue.

I think WHAS is the gold standard for camp movies. Nothing encapsulates what I want from the genre more than "Jane" by Jefferson Starship playing over the opening credits while all the counselors sit around a bonfire.

Probably put Heavyweights number 2 because, aside from its previously mentioned strengths, it has such a tight script; the movie literally never slumps. It's weaknesses are marginal - not having a charismatic lead, not having a redemption for the cancelled co-ed dance, the cheesy obstacle course competition.

Once you start including 80s slasher flicks it gets harder to make direct comparisons.

It was a series and not a movie, but I used to watch a lot of Salute Your Shorts on Nickelodeon back in the day.

Not quite a summer camp, but dude ranch, I used to watch a bunch of Hey Dude too
