He could gamble, but only like 5% of the 30 million.

As for the stamp, I think there is a difference btw burning a Picaso, and using a stamp to mail a letter.

Also, who is to say the value of the stamp is destroyed? The stamp still exists, it is just no longer in possession of Brewster

i hire U2 to play a concert in downtown New York, and I'd rent a city block to stage it

This is what I was thinking. Rent out the Superdome or New Orleans Arena. Hire your favorite band to play, have it catered. Hire security. You'd be able to spend a good bit of money pretty quickly that way.

I would hope a SPOILER warning wouldn't be necessary but just in case:

At the end didn't he end up hiring his friend to end up getting rid of the rest of the money?

Couldn't he have done that t the beginning? Hire his friend to be his personal assistant for the next month for $30 Million?

no you had to get equal value for services rendered.

There was the one guy who was suppose to impartial and judge stuff like that.

He hired the girl at the end to be his lawyer on retainer for 30 G

i'd produce a movie for personal enjoyment and hire megan fox and that amy adams chic and make them do nasty things in the script.

You would have rights to a percentage of the money from the movie so that wouldn't work because you can have no assets. When I got the 300 mil this is something I would definitely look into though.

When Brewster is given the instructions on how he has to spend the $30 million in 30 days, his uncle tells him that he cant buy 12 Picassos and use them for firewood because he can not destroy anything that is inherently valuable. Doing that would be instant disqualification

Well later in the movie, he pays $1.25 million for a very rare stamp and mails a post card with it, thus destroying the value of the stamp.

Why didn't those two old dudes who looked like a real live version of Statler and Waldorf immediately cry foul and demand the $300 million?

that's why you are a cop and not a lawyer... can't interpret the rules

ETA: I kid

Where did it say that? Didn't he bet on some longshot horses to win?

He could only gamble 10% and give % to charities
