Has anyone ever heard of this site? Apparently it is a file sharing site that has movies still in theaters. Is it safe or is it a virus waiting to happen?

Any streaming site is going to be risky. I got nailed a bunch of times from the Ad server on Ninja Video back in the day.

Some sites use more reputable ad servers and some sites don't care.

Some sites force you to use their media viewer and they load it up with crapware.

If you stream movies, it is best to have up to date anti-virus, malware protection and have flash block and adblock. Even then you could get hit from time to time.

When it comes to streaming sites, there are no 100% safe sites.

You also need to remember most sites aren't hosting the videos. They just link the videos on other hosts. So even though the Link Site my be solid, the host site could be a haven for viruses.
