The one with Powers Boothe right? That was an under rated gem.

A riff on Deliverance, the acting was pretty solid.

Agreed. Unfortunately I'm old enough to remember when that movie first came out and it is pretty bad arse. Those Cajuns weren't fricking around

I agree.

It's just that Deliverance is well known and most people haven't heard of Southern Comfort.

Burt Reynolds wasn't a great actor but he couldn't have been better in Deliverance.

There are times when the talent shines through - much like John Wayne, Burt cashed a lot of paychecks where the money was for being Burt Reynolds.

In Deliverance, I agree he couldn't have been better. I think that was true for a number of films he made during that time (for example, his acting is underrated in The Longest Yard, while a relatively unserious movie, Burt held the entire thing together), but even late career, if he took something seriously, like Boogie Nights, he nailed it (even though he didn't much care for the content).

Southern Comfort had legit A-grade actors, Walter Hill and it showed.

Parlez Nous à Boire is such a great song. Been in my head for 40 years after seeing this movie.
