Yes, no applause in our screening too. For a group of people that lived through the prequals, we did not think it could get any worse. It did.

My screening had applause at the moment Luke was revealed projecting, and the end credits.

The Alt-Right Hate The Last Jedi So Much They’re Trying to Spam Rotten Tomatoes

Yeah... so I was listening to NPR this morning, and they were reviewing the film.

Every single one of these hopped SJW critic-types still found issues with the film. Every single one of them had legitimate complaints about pacing, story, plot, consistency, etc.

All the breathless hyperbole about "hate" is nonsense, and it makes those who publish such nonsense look absurd.

I'm not sold on the RT score yet. There's so much hate around that if it's not bots, it's at the very least a movement of people that have gone out there way to drive it down bc they are butthurt.

AotC is dogshit and it's now ranked better than TLJ. Go watch that hot garbage and tell me it's better. Just not possible. AotC is terrible but if it's a history repeating itself again XI will be the best movie of the sequels.

Maybe we are following the same pattern

Just can't accept that people think it's a bad movie.

I'm not saying that, im saying the people who think it's terrible are being more vocal.

Pay attention.

Why does it have to be a "movement"? Why can't it just be people?

Or, it's just people who are pissed because this thing has been fricked up, once again. Maybe the reason that AoTC has a higher score is because people have let the prequels marinate for 10 years and get pissed about it, and then Disney buys this thing in a corporate takeover and completely shite all over it by hiring subpar producers, directors, and writers. The only thing that I think Disney has done right, is this time around we have better actors.

Finally saw it, and I went in really wanting to be opposed to the haters. I tried very hard to achieve the goal of coming out of it and saying "pssh, idiots, that was actually a great movie" HOWEVER, and it still pains me to say it because there was so much opportunity for a great film, I could not. It just wasn't very good.
1) it felt massively disjointed throughout the first 2/3rds of the move. I told my wife it felt at times like we were watching 2 different movies and kept flipping back and forth.
2) the editing was flat and very poorly put together
3) there was wayyyy too much "comedic relief", so much that it didn't become relief of anything. The grittiness was just overshadowed, or non-existent, I'm not sure which.
4) it felt like a complete departure from what we saw in TFA.
5) in summation, it was very poorly directed

I'm still so disappointed.

Any particular reason those "butthurt" fans picked this movie to be more vocal?

I was paying attention when you (a) called bots the first time and (b) created a thread to pat yourself on the back for calling bots.

You're losing me now.

This is basically AotC part two.

Hopefully episode 9 can redeem it.

not to be mean, but it just sounds like you have a hard time rationalizing that so many people have a different opinion than you...there's so much hate around it, I think that logically flows well with the audience score.

I get it looks like that. I don't care honestly. The movie isn't perfect, it's not great.

But I don't think it's as bad as it's being made out to be, the audience score puts it lower than many terrible and way worse movies. That is because it's Star Wars. Like I've said from the beginning, SW is too big for it's own good. I'm convinced the movie could be perfect and half the audience would still shite on it. This has been my main point from the start.

That's all

What? You act like Star Wars fans want to shite on Star Wars movies. Like they don't defend Star Wars movies to the death.

The Force Awakens wasn't perfect... 88% audience score.

Rogue One wasn't perfect... 87% audience score.

But you're convinced that even if The Last Jedi had been perfect, half the audience would still shite on it. WTF are you talking about?
