Thoughts on Arcadian

I thought it was great.

I seem to be in the minority but I really really think this is the best thing I’ve seen this year.

This is a lot like Quiet Place mixed with Swiss Family Robinson. There’s a fair amount of drama which is the center of most of the movie.

I thought the characterization was excellent. I saw some complaints and I have no clue what people are fricking talking about. I think the movie did better at making likable characters than 99% of other movies I see.

The monsters are unique. I think they’re a little hit or miss down to the frame of movie for me. Sometimes I’m thinking “oh, that’s kinda cool” to “oh…. I don’t know what I’m looking at.”

I was halfway convinced this movie would turn into Omega Man at some point and glad it didn’t.

Main complaint, and maybe it’s due to the theater, but the movie was very dark, very hard to see what’s happening too often.
