I'm in season 4 now and it's been a drag to get through. blew through the first 3. glad to hear it will pick up

I never really got held up by Season 4. Maybe I did when I first watched it, idr. It definitely is necessary to add plot foundations.

this is my first time through. I find myself over-analyzing/trying too hard to pay attention so I don't miss anything that will later become important

Season 4 might not be the best, but it has some of the best scenes and episodes IMO.

What the frick is your problem?

Sorry, just seemed funny.

I can’t really rank them because I like them all so much although I didn’t care for all the dream sequences. I also didn’t care for Dr. Melfi. Her acting always seemed pretty bad to me.

You'll never catch everything the first or 20th time watching it. That is what makes the show so great. You can watch it repeatedly and focus on different characters as the main character (as much as possible) and catch different stuff every time. David Chase has always said nothing is in the show by accident. (presumably after season 1 took off, as Season 1 has plenty of accidents lol like Vito's twin, Pussy's alternate wife, everyones alternate wife at the wedding, one of the NY guys sitting at the Season 1 wedding, etc.).

I wouldn’t get too caught up in focusing on it like that. Not sure how old you are, but it’s become a totally different show for me from the 1st time I watched it at 21, and the 4th or 5th time I watched it at 34.

ETA: same thing happens with Mad Men for me.

That is what makes some of the shows (especially Sopranos) so great. They age like a fine wine. Even though they are dated now to a degree. The viewer takes different perspectives as they age. Almost like watching it as a teenager from AJ or Meadows perspective, then to watching it as an adult to Tony/most other characters, perspective, and then watching it when Im 70 from Jr.'s perspective.
