I thought it was a very good coming of age movie with an original plot.
this. Best coming of age movie I have seen since breakfast club. It's a shame it doesn't get the publicity it deserves

And I really don't know why. I don't remember it being in theaters and has one of the biggest name actresses out right now in Watson. You'd think a movie based on a national bestseller would get more publicity than it has. I guess it's one of those that will have to travel more through word of mouth than anything. I'm doing my best to get my friends and co-workers to watch.

same here. So far i have only gotten 1 person to watch it and she called and told me it was great.
My guess is that it is really going to pick up when it hits the hbo/shotime/cinemax/starz circuit

Justw atched it this past weekend as well. Enjoyed it a lot. Loved the scene in the tunnel with the Bowie song.

yea i saw it over the weekend with absolutely no knowledge of the plot and the end was a real WTF for me.
And then, you look back on the events of the movie, and you just feel so much pain for Charlie.
Great movie and great acting performances.

I enjoyed the movie way more than the book.
Charlie is more likeable in the movie, and the movie isn't as graphic in some things. The author of the book wrote the screenplay, so it went well together. In the book, I enjoyed a lot of the family history which explained why the parents acted the way they did, however, it wasn't too necessary.
The reveal really threw me for a loop.
Dylan McDermott was perfect as the dad. Logan was great as was Ezra Miller.
I thought the change to use "heroes" by Bowie as the music they went through the tunnel was a good enough change. In the book it was "landslide" by Fleetwood Mac. Heroes is a lot more upbeat and gave the line about "we are infinite" more meaning IMO.
