They've long been on my list of classic films to see, but I finally got around to starting with Woman Under the Influence, which I figured would be his most accessible work. I enjoyed some of the performances and the freedom and time that Cassavetes allowed his actors on camera although my endurance began wearing a little thin toward the end.

What are your favorite Cassavetes films and which should I try next? I've been leaning toward The Killing of a Chinese Bookie because the reviews sound so intriguing--albeit it sounds like I'm about to test my endurance even moreso than Woman Under the Influence.

Your getting into some deep stuff probably not a lot of people have seen. I think Peter Faulk worked a bunch with him so maybe check out any of those. I also found a link that might be helpful. I never could get into his stuff though.

Yeah. Falk was in Woman. I'm interested in checking out Faces because of the miniscule budget and iconic indie film status, but the polariIng reviees of Bookie have me even more intrigued.
