Sorry I feel the need to put out a PSA on this wonderful film. The story is about a little girl in Afghanistan who has to provide for her family after the Taliban arrests her father for heresy. I really think it might be the single greatest animated film of the 2010s (certainly in the debate). While it was based on a book from a girl in the 90s, it was largely based on the iconic Green Eyed Girl picture and what her story could have been:
Not only am I advertising this because it’s a fantastic movie, but it’s also deserving of sequel and a trilogy. No spoilers but as the movie is ending, you can tell it’s getting to the good part and the potential of a Godfather Part II sequel. The books are a trilogy, but the films were written a different time period in mind if you catch my drift in a good way. People need to make this a highly watched Netflix movie so we can get a sequel and a sequel after that. It’s well deserving of a trilogy.
Here’s the trailer to what very well may have been the greatest animated film of the 2010s: YouTube
