at the beginning of every episode, it says that ton and the other guy buy hundreds per year, and the show showcases the TOP few % of great finds. Losers dont make the cut
Do you really think that they film them going through 300 lockers, or do you think they recreate their finds after they've gone through all of those lockers?
With Auction Hunters, I'm thinking that the "finds" are staged.

I just like to look at Brandi's tatas

In highschool I worked at a storage facility and you don't find shite in them.. People don't even show up to the auctions, it's people's junk that they don't want.. I would venture to say that a lot of those people take out the stuff of value and just stop paying the rent. It's usually old shitty furniture (not antiques), broken or outdated electronics.
Most of those things found on the tv show are staged. The most valuable thing I've ever seen from an auction was a collection of playboy magazines.

Or they really are showing 1 in every 100 units

My Grandpaw used to own a bunch of them. Every once in a while we'd find a gun or something of marginal value, but for the most part it was all junk.
But, his were in front of a trailer park he owned in Galvez, and not in some high-class California city.

the old rich guy that looks like a Sopranos character should pay to sleep with brandi like in indecent proposal...that would spice this dumbass show up some..and brandi and her husband could quit buying junk to sell in their crappy store...

Can you not tell that this show is insanely fake? There's really nothing about it that even remotely looks realistic..
When it first came out I was slightly excited thinking it could be real, until episode 2 or 3 when one guy brought a midget on stilts with night vision goggles to help him see whats in the storage rooms... seriously a midget on stilts? That makes him about the same size as the rest of the people there.. whats the point??
Then the fact that they throw in these ridiculous items in the storage buildings and expect you to think that these people really find it... I mean one guy finds an old shitty picture and turns it over and sees a stack of cash taped to the back... another guy finds a coin collection worth thousands... another guy finds a card collection worth thousands... etc etc etc
People aren't sitting at their house with thousands of dollars in rare valuables thinking "man I just don't have enough room in my house to store this thousand dollar coin collection that fits in a shoe box, I better go pay $50 a month to keep it in an fairly unsecure location. Oh yea let me stick my picture with cash strapped to the back in there too"
People get storage buildings to put all of their old junk that they don't want filling up their attic and garage, not rare valuables.
I think if you took out these rare big ticket items from the show, and took out the cheesy banter between the main characters then there is probably some truth to the show. Nobody gives a shite about watching somebody pull out some old VCRs and other shite that they really get out of the storage buildings so these rare items are thrown in there to spice it up and make the show slightly interesting.
Every now and then I see this show on and I'll turn it on, but then within 5 minutes somebody is discovering a $5,000 bill laying on the floor or some bricks of gold sitting under a mattress and I just turn it off.
