I prefer lost.

One of the unsung heroes of Lost is the fantastic score. Tremendous job done by the guy who did the music on Lost.

I may like Walter more than any member of the Lost cast, however I like the Lost group as a whole more than the full cast of Fringe.

Bell is smarter than Ben but Ben would have manipulated Bell into doing what he wanted or he would have manipulated someone into taking Bell out.

The whole idea that JJ knew where he was going from day 1 is nonsense proven by the normal bad guys after Peter who disappeared with no explanation whatsoever. That plot simply ceased to exist.

He probably had a fuller grasp of the outline than Lost but who cares. Most shows have no clue where they are going from day 1. Most shows are just praying there is a season 2. I never understood the whole angst against the lack of direction of Lost. I thought the unpredictability was a positive.

I know it is just an opinion, but Lost seasons 1 and 2 are in a whole different league than Fringe seasons 1 and 2.

I haven't seen past season 2 so I couldn't comment on the rest of the seasons.

the show is getting a lot better though. A lot less filler.

100% agree first 2 seasons of lost are epic. 2nd half of season one and season 2 of fringe are pretty good too but fringe gets stronger and stays strong where lost takes a nose dive in the later seasons imo.

jj didn't have the entire series already scripted before it started, of course not. he did know where he wanted to go and how he wanted it to end. while on lost it was clear there wasn't a preconceived end game and they were just making it up as they go along. if you go back and watch fringe knowing what you know now you will easily spot many instances very early on that reveal that the end game was planned and well crafted from the start

eta: I am not trying to convince anyone that thinks lost is better that they are wrong I am just stating the differences and giving my reasons for my opinion

and I don't just mean the x files. Abrams has definitely watched a lot of Star Trek.
