Love triangle set at a rubber plantation in Indochina. Harlow character, a prostitute on the lam from the law in Saigon, and Gable, plantation manager, connect. Astor is the wife of a young engineer just hired and is seduced by Gable.

I watched this earlier today - very good movie for that period.

When it comes to Depression-era dames being menaced in isolated jungle hot-spots, I'm rather more partial to Helen Twelvetrees in "Panama Flo" (1932), released eight months prior to "Red Dust."

My movie education must be sadly lacking. I had never heard of her, but I'm going to make up for my deficiency.
