Reaction to Star Wars Special Editions in 1997

I was pissed

so pissed that a guy I knew illegally downloaded all of the original versions free of Lucas' interference

I was 17, but I don't remember ever giving to much of a shite about it.

This, exactly. I'd seen the originals a dozen times and had no interest in spending my hard earned money to see them in theater. I'm not sure if I've ever seen them still.

Was working at a movie theater in 97. Got to see them all, it was cool to get to see them on the big screen since I was way too young/not born when they first came out. I remember people camping out at my theater and such. Everyone at work kept fighting over who gets to keep the posters and mylars and such.

Can we talk about the more recent updates? Like how they've added Hayden Christensen's moron ghost to the end of ROTJ?

That really was terrible. How the hell would Luke even recognize him not burnt and old? I doubt I'd be able to recognize my own dad as a 20 year old if the only memory of what he looks like was when he looked like an egg. I was more offended by the dragon call addition. It sounds like Obi-Wan is moaning after getting a hummer. I kid you not. Go listen.
