ive been the past 2 years. its a really cool experience. i am not overtly crazy and have a normal job, etc. its definitely something to see. theres always a few really cool costumes and some fun panels to attend.

i actually found it funny that you basically find anything you can imagine on dvd. one guy was selling the wonder woman failed pilot about a month after it got canned. i was pretty impressed.

its also pretty cheap to attend considering.

eta: my biggest gripe is they have yet to get a current comic book writer there.

Can you answer my question about what the Patrick Stewart or Stan Lee VIP pass gets you? It said something about a photo op and 1 autographed item or something like that... For 300 bucks I better get to talk to him for like 5 minutes

i bought the stan lee one last year. i didnt realize he would be coming again and thought it was one of my only chances to see him (it was still worth it).

the difference between the vip package and the photo op thing is in the VIP package, you get a very small hour meet and greet with him. they do 3 groups of about 10 or so people. you get to have your own photo with him and actually get to have a conversation with him. you also get to jump the the autograph line and panel line.

i imagine the same for the patrick stewart thing.

evidently patrick stewart isnt doing a meet and greet (or its sold out), just the vip pass thing is available...i guess im trying to justify spending 300 to take a couple pictures with the guy and getting him to sign it im a huge trekkie, but 300 is stiff, might just pay the 90 to get the photo op with him. which im sure is 1 picture right?

What is the cost to attend the convention itself?

No way in hell I would ever consider paying a celebrity so that I might take a picture with them... that's retarded. IMO, that should be included in the price of admission. If the celebrities don't want to meet the fans and indulge in pictures, then they shouldn't be there.

But I still think it would be cool to go and walk around and see all the convention has to offer.
