NetFlix help please!

I gave a wii and want Netflix what all do I need to get it going?

I started reading that and realized one thing the article says is needed is a "Netflix instant streaming disc for the Wii"
My next door neighbor works for my cable/internet company and he also told me I needed that but I didn't.
I signed up and followed the directions they had emailed me afterwards.
I never needed a disc.
After following the link they emailed I just started watching movies.
