Need Help With A John Wayne Movie Line / Scene

Wayne is getting shaved and the line is about the last time he let someone (an Indian?) get behind him with a "cuttin' tool".
I laughed out loud when I heard it and asked my brother if he'd ever seen it, which he hadn't.
Rooster Cogburn? El Durado or Rio Bravo? Any help would be appreciated. TIA
