I actually have to disagree on High Noon. That’s not to say anything negative about the quality of the original. I somewhat view it like True Grit, where the original was similarly iconic and near perfect, but the story could be told through an updated /different lens.

Makes me think of both True Grit and 3:10 to Yuma. Both were solid films (blows my mind that 3:10 to Yuma was the first film adaptation ever of an Elmore Leonard story).
