Miracle re-watch on 40th Anniversary weekend of 1980 Soviet game - ESPN

ESPN is playing it with limited commercials. There's about 1.5 hrs left in the broadcast.

Haven't seen it in 15 yrs. Kurt Russell should have gotten an Oscar nomination.

These are the best actor noms from that year:

He could have easily replaced Eastwood or Depp.

Good lord. I like the movie but Russell was not better than Depp or Eastwood


There’s also a 30 for 30 documentary on the Soviets side of things. Really well done and gives you some insight to how truly dominant they were before and even after the Miracle on Ice. They were pure machines

The intro/opening credits provides a nice "summary" of how things were going to shite in the USA to set the table for how this victory was so integral to the psyche of the country.
