If he rigged the job search for himself and against one of the people they might end up hiring you can't really leave him in charge of that next person.

I've seen this attack on the Jeopardy reddit, where it's popular. But I never saw anything in any of the Jeopardy! emails, press statements, or coverage suggesting that they were conducting a "contest" to choose the next host. They simply announced a schedule of "guest hosts," nothing more. It was obviously to keep viewers during the interim after Alex died, which was sadly expected.

Jeopardy! tapes 5 episodes a day; it seemed really unlikely to me that any of those guest hosts would take the show full-time without quitting whatever they were doing previously. Maybe Ken or Buzzy would have taken that, but I doubt Anderson Cooper, Aaron Rogers, or any of the others were really "auditioning" for the full-time gig.

lol Yeah. Right.

Corporate America just doesn't allow people to be questionably promoted over others, and then have those others work under the promoted person.

That never happens.

Except in this case he questionably got the job over them then lost it. You don't foresee some natural trust issues there?

I've had managers fired for fricking over employees and then rehired to manage those same employees. You're talking about an entertainment business that jettisoned James Gunn for an association with pedophilia and then rehired him to produce family films. It wouldn't surprise me if Richards left to run other shows and then worked his way back onto Jeopardy.

And in those cases the person had to leave because their issues were too hot at the moment, like Mike Richards.

I'm sure he'll work again soon since it's not like he's on camera and people would notice but right now he's got baggage.
