Just rewatched the other night for the first time in like 20 years and Holy shite did I overestimate this film when I was younger.
I mean it's still entertaining I guess, and the story is good, but the acting is just horrendous.
Am I being unfair?

I think that almost all of the non-Italian gangster movies and all of the prison movies before 1995 or so have aged poorly. The antagonists are so cartoonish compared to what we see nowadays.
Look at a film like South Central from 1992. It's aged even worse than Blood In, Blood Out.
