I'm not talking about classic music videos, I am talking about music videos made using classical music.
Go with me here:
What about having visual interpretations of a classical pieces? Ultimately, classical music moves me to picture film scenes that would be potent when set to that music, so why not make shorts based on that?
When I listen to 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky I picture a freaking war.
When I listen to Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin I picture a parade with floats and big animal balloons.
When I listen to In the Hall of the Mountain King by Grieg I picture...well I can't tell you that one. I am using this in a film I wrote.
Summary: There are many classical pieces out there that bring abput vivid visualizations picture. I think it would be neat to make "music videos" of these.
What say you on this idea?
What pieces make you picture things/scenes/events?
What pieces would be amazing with a film interpretation?
ETA: I don't picture a static image or scene, what I see in my mind's eye is directly tied to the feeling of the music. For instance, while listening to 1812 I see the military planning, gathering, marching, and eventually fighting. It's more vivid than that though. There's definitely a progression between each of these main events just as the music transitions between each segment.

I'd love it. I personally like to envision my own interpretations but I'd love to see what others come up with. As I am going to see Beethoven's 9th symphony this weekend, I'd love to see one done to that. I'm so excited I can't stand it.

Sounds to me like what Disney has already done w/ Fantasia.
