Every time I see or hear some show or person whine about the US nuking the Japs, I have 3 thoughts.
1) Don't start shite, won't be shite.
2) How many more would have died if we were forced to invade mainland Japan?
3) When are we gonna see a series that deals with the Rape of Nanking, or indeed how the Japs treated every other Asian nation they invaded before and during WW2?

Listened to Dan Carlin's "Destroyer of Worlds" a while back and some of the reports he had found were incredible. The main fireball of the blast was over 700 feet in diameter and hotter than the surface of the sun. All windows in something like a 2-mile radius were instantly blown out. There were "shadows" of people and objects left in the pavement and facades of buildings. It was not somewhere you'd want to find yourself.
