Forgotten Island

I’ve been seeing trailers for this kids’ movie for what has seemed like years. The first time I saw a preview, it looked interesting and fun. After the 10th time I was forced to sit through yet another trailer, I was sick of it and had no desire to see it. But today, I wanted to take the kids to the movies and it was the only interesting kids movie that I saw.

And it was very fun.

The animation was pretty unique, in that it switched to anime any time someone was telling a story or if there was a flashback. I thought that was fun. It had lots of good laughs and the characters were interesting. The island was pretty cool. There were some weird and kinda gross things, which seemed more appropriate for an older crowd, but it wasn’t too much IMO. And the villain was downright scary. Whoever did the animation for it borrowed from some very creepy horror movies. I thought it was great, but odd to see in a kids movie, as it was pretty frightening.

Overall, it wasn’t mind blowing, but the main characters were likable, the story was fun and wholesome, and there was definitely some moments that hit you in the feels. It is nice to see a somewhat original story. The soundtrack was awesome. It was set in the early 2000’s, but a lot of the music was 80’s and 90’s.

This one gets my approval.
