Watched it last night and loved it. Ben Foster is a great actor. Crazy to think the shite head deputy from Sons of Anarchy wrote this and Sicario.

Wish he would have or could have continued in SOA.
Went a little downhill after him imo.

Loved the first two seasons. Gave up on it after season four.

On a $12M budget 26M isn't "poor", but yes in comparison to the other choices out there this year, the general public is clueless

Yes it does mean "poor", it didn't even break even. That 26Mil is split between the Box Office and Studio and you still have to account for the cost of promoting the thing. The movie is far from being in the Black.

It will develop a cult following.

Biggest surprise for me was Pine. He was more than halfway decent.

Watched it again and Bridges just seems like a wannabe Tommy Lee Jones and a bit of a hot head.

Same here. I like him as James T. Kirk but he was godawful in The Finest Hours. I was glad to see him do well here.

Just rented it because of this thread. This is what I want to get out of a movie. Simple story where the conflict sets the tone and drives the characters. Ben Foster is a great actor. Pine threw me for a loop because I just thought he was a pretty boy. Bridges is basically Rooster Cogburn but I ain't complaining. Soundtrack and cinematography were perfect. Big thumbs up.

Oh ok, i guess it's just that simple....

I guess we should all believe the Hollywood accounting tactics that "show" a loss on Harry Potter movies....
