It's awesome watching Dave interview worthless people like Paris Hilton or one of the people from the Hills. He just rips into them and asks completely owns them because they have no reason for being famous.

And what's better than the Joaquin Phoenix interview?

Dave has always been better with the interview than Jay, but Jay for some reason I can't comprehend has always been more popular.
However, Dave has gotten old and cranky and he really showed his liberal side in the last election. For the last several years he has been far more politically oriented than in previous years. I liked it more when he stayed out of the debate.

Conan is much better then either of them IMO

Conan had the later time slot. People said the same thing about Dave when he was at the later slot.
10:30 turns the show into crap. They want to appeal to a broader crowd so they tone everything done.
Lets see if we ever see the masturbating bear at 10:30.

He retired the bear already....he did it when NBC said he wasn't allowed to b ring the bear to 10:30...sucks.
I love conan....I think he was made for 11:30...loved that show

I loved how Conan would open the show with a comment on how the audience applauded him Examples- Now it's starting to sound violent...It's sounding like someone just got murdered in the crowd....Now the random yelling begins....its beginning to sound like a horrible bus accident in here... its sounding like an elevator crash in here...I love how he did that. It's was always funny and interesting to see what he said each night. I think he did it 99.9% of the time. I hope he continues it on his new show.

I vote Letterman. I can't stomach watching Leno, don't find him funny in the slightest bit. Even though Paul Schaeffer is absolutely horrible I would still watch Letterman's show if I had to watch one.

However, Letterman's show on NBC in the '80s was the funniest and most inventive late night show I've ever seen. It was like The Man Show every night (several writers worked on both programs).
If you only know Letterman from his CBS show you've never really seen him, and certainly never seen him at his best.
This is the correct answer. Letterman was awesome before he got screwed over by NBC. When he made the move to CBS vs Leno, the show lost it's appeal. But, he's done well considering that almost everyone said you can't do a show against the Tonight Show. Many have tried. Arsenio, Magic and Chevy ring a bell, just to name a few?

Put me down for Letterman...been watching him since 1984 or so. The early years were classic.

I can remember him mocking New Orleans back in the day because WDSU played Thicke of the Night instead of Letterman.

Don't laugh. Baton Rouge had Arsenio instead of Letterman.

I would take Arsenio any day of the week over Thick of the Night.
Poor Arsenio. He needs Eddie to carry him again. He filed bankruptcy.

Thicke of the Night = worst late night show of all time. If you never saw it you can't even imagine how bad it was.

I'm sure no one will remember this, but when Letterman had been on NBC about a year, BR's NBC station ch. 33 took him off the air in order to show All In The Family reruns. A group of LSU students raised a stink and managed to get Letterman back on after a couple of weeks. Not only did Letterman thank the students on the air, but the students made a 5 minute video about it which ch. 33 good-naturedly broadcast after that Letterman episode.

I had a friend taping Letterman in Lafayette for me until he made the switch to CBS.

I used to have to pick up a BR station in New Orleans using the stinking rabbit ears to watch it when Thicke was on.
