The G.I. Joe/Transformers movie has been rumored to be in the works for years now, as Paramount seek to combine two of their biggest properties into one mega franchise. Paramount has grander plans than that.

There is a comic series called Revolutions which is set in a shared universe with Gi Joe, Transformers, Mask, Micronauts, Visionairies, and ROM the Space Knight. There have been serious discussions about making a shared cinematic universe with the same properties.
