If all the experts are right it will happen before Thanksgiving. A few weeks ago a HBO Max (AT&T) spokesman stated that the company was "very close" to consumating a deal with a major streaming service. He did not name Roku but it's a well known fact that from the start HBO Max and Roku were in serious talks, with Amazon Prime the other player being left behind because of bigger issues between them and Max.

If your thing is higher quality content for movies in quantity too, then Max is superior to Netflix or any other service.

You think the pay streaming services just lets ROKU throw them on their device free?

Exactly. HBO max is available on a lot of devices. It’s even available as a Samsung tv app but you still have to pay for the service.

Although apparently my ATT cable bill went up $15 and they gave me HBO max as part of the increase

If you do anything with AT&T, they’ll throw in HBO Max. We just renegotiated our contract, and even with us paying less they gave us HBO Max.

Ohh interesting. I think my promotional subscription ran out and it just automatically did it but I’ll call and see if they can do something more
