My god, have I found a fellow Doombot on this board?
I always flip flop on which version I prefer. Jack Kirby’s Doom with only a simple scar, yet his vanity and ego drives him crazy with this “imperfection”, and he then completely melts his face while putting on the mask
Or Jonathan Hickman’s version where Doom’s face is ridiculously fricked up immediately after the machine blows up (which would make a lot more sense of why he loathes Richards so much)

Thanks for that background. However they choose to do it, it appears that comic fans are super passionate about the character.
So long as they're faithful to the source material, I think they would have a winner on their hands. I love me a good, complex villain. The best ones are 49% relatable in their motivations, anyway.
I just hate the prospect of feeling this amazing Big Bad and then he's gone after just a few films.
