Coincidentally.
And never knew there was one.
What's the Director's cut? Editor free?
Is it under 5 hours? Cimino is the Crock Pot of directors. You put the actors in the pot, point the camera and then walk away.
Come back in 8 hours for one scene, put it in the can. Repeat.

Ironically ... because of this thread and because of the Cimino discussion, "The Director's Cut."
Coincidentally the wedding scene just started.
I wouldn't say "edit free." It's more like scenes are included that did not make the theatrical cut for time's sake. I'm sure there are still many unseen scenes that were cut out of even the Director's Cut.
ETA: I had forgotten one of the major goofs in the movie, during the wedding scene when the "green beret" walks in and says "frick it" a few times.
He's wearing his green beanie and has is group patch on his right combat shoulder ... but his current unit shoulder is a pukin' buzzard when meant he would have been wearing a count cap with glider patch even if he was on his way to his new duty station.
Also, splling the drop of red wine on the wedding dress ... one of the most poignant and memorable visual images of impending doom in modern movie history.
