To your point, and for those saying it was no different than zero dark 30, the part towards the end of episode 1 of the cia literally having eyes on him in the mountains at the beginning of the war but being denied a request for more support to get him was new information I believe. And a massive frickup by gwb

Great series. I enjoyed the first two more than the last episode because I absolutely despise Ben Rhodes and I feel about the same way of John Brennan.
My favorite scene of the show was the chick who thought she was qualified for the CIA because she was in a sorority. Her and the old lady who thought blame were unfair did no favors for the intelligence community. Obviously these two are paper pushers and had no real involvement but I thought it was funny

or was it?? Maybe not a massive frickup, but a decision made because they needed a boogey man to frighten the people in the US enough to not see through the lies they were told and the massive theft of freedoms they had in store for us via the Patriot Act etc?
FYI, I was a GWB supporter back in the day, but now I know better...much better.

Yeah this is likely what happened, killing OBL that early would have taken too much money out of the pockets of their defense contractors. They needed to stretch it out.
