Just finished season 2. If you haven't watched it, you certainly should.

Midway thru season 1. It’s good but the comedy got too dark for me. Is there a redemption arc?

It's a drama with some funny parts. Anyone expecting a comedy like Hot Fuzz or whatever will be disappointed.
The OD is where shite starts to hit it's stride. The Prossie becomes a bigger character, and a truly endearing story arc.

Gervais is just a great writer. And all of his work proves that.
I felt it in that scene where he was going to take those pills. His dad dancing with his late wife. fricking gut wrenching.
I haven't lost anyone I've truly been close to, yet. I have one grandpa left and I feel the closest to him out of my entire family. When he goes I know it will be excruciating for me. Might need this show during that period.

Excellent series. Been moved a couple times, but still laughed a lot. Really enjoy the exchanges with old woman at the cemetery. I think those are my favorite aspect.

It's great, but pretty sad. A little too real sometimes, but that's the appeal. Will watch season 3 when it's released.
