"The big buzz from the players at the WSOP is about Phil Ivey and the rumored amount he won on side bets (multi-millions) after winning his 6th WSOP bracelet in the $2,500 buy-in 2-7 Lowball Draw event. The first place prize money for that event was just under $100k and word is that Ivey toked it all to the dealers - obviously because he had won so much in side bets for winning a bracelet. (My guess is that this would be the first time in history that anyone won an event at the WSOP and lost money!)"
He tipped his entire winnings.
He tipped his entire winnings.

New Chip Lee-der
Phil Ivey completed on third street, both players checked fourth before Ivey fired bets on fifth, sixth and seventh streets. Ming Lee made the call and tabled the best hand with two pair as Ivey mucked.
edit:
Ivey Stems The Bleeding
Back onto Omaha-8 once again and Phil Ivey has taken down a much needed pot to get some momentum back in his favor. Ming Lee raised the button and Ivey re-popped it from the big blind. Lee called and they saw a flop of . Ivey led at the pot and Lee made the call. The turn was the and again Ivey fired a bet with Lee making the call. The river brought the and once again Ivey bet and Lee called. Ivey tabled for a full house with queens full of aces to take it down. Lee: 1.2 million Ivey: 1.6 million

ESPN typically got high ratings for its broadcast of World Series of Poker events like the $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. tournament, but in the hopes of luring more people looking for the basic no-limit hold’em games, the executives at the network decided to simplify the filming schedule at the 2009 WSOP. The majority of the broadcasts will be dedicated to the $10K buy-in main event, as the footage will be translated into 24 hours of air time as well as two or more dedicated to the November Nine main event final table alone. The only other tournaments to be filmed and broadcast on ESPN television this year will be the $40,000 NLHE tournament - Event #2 on the schedule - the Champions Invitational, and the Ante Up for Africa charity tournament.

Ming Lee Eliminated in 2nd Place ($136,292); Phil Ivey Wins 7th Bracelet!
It's over! Phil Ivey has captured an incredible seventh World Series of Poker bracelet and second this year to the delight of the massive group of friends and fans on the rail here at the Rio. The final hand came in a round of Stud-8 with Lee all in on third street. The boards ran out as follows: Lee: Ivey: Phil Ivey makes trip queens and the crowd cheer in delight at having witnessed this historic poker moment. However we also congratulate Ming Lee who started the day short stacked and fought incredibly well against some of the greatest players the game has seen, to finish in 2nd place for a collect of $136,292.
