In my line of work, you get to see advocacy pieces done all of the time. That is the job description.

What we are witnessing is ESPN doing advocacy pieces against Mike Leach. They will throw in an obligatory one liner to try to balance out an entire piece against Mike Leach, but it's pretty clear that ESPN has no sense of balance in covering the Mike Leach story.

Looks pretty clear to me that it is TT and ESPN vs. Leach.

agree. see my post in the other thread about espn. they will, however, not be allowed to testify in court and they may very well be hurting TT's and the James' case. judges are not stupid and neither is leaches lawyer. this case will be tryed in court and not in the public arena.

Perhaps not, but he doesn't project well.

if you noticed on Sports Center this morning, not one quote from the players and coaches who have come out in support of leach. They managed to find two players out of over a 100 that say they're glad he's gone.

cant imagine how pissed I'd be as a TT fan, they just fired the guy that made them semi-relevant. Even the players coming out trashing Leach don't realize where their program is headed now.

Exactly. Talk about cherry-picking witnesses.

And did you hear Mark May's tirade last night?

I guess this rules out any chance Leach gets a color analyst job at ESPN

May was looking into the camera like he was face to face with Leach basically saying that he had a chance to redeem himself but his ego was too big and he got what he deserved. That he is not bigger that the university.

Leach will get the last laugh when TT is sitting at the bottom of the Big 12 and he is off somewhere winning with another team.

ESPN is alone in its biased coverage. Every other outlet, whether national or regional, is providing facts that ESPN is obviously ignoring.

I'm not saying that. TT fired Leach for TT's own reasons.

However, I don't think anyone can honestly say that ESPN is covering this thing anywhere in the neighborhood of objectively. To the contrary, it looks to me like ESPN is providing stories that solely support TT and the James family.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. It is so obvious that they are not capable of reporting the facts in this case.

Google E-mails in support of Mike Leach and read what coaches and players think of Mike Leach and Adam James.

saw that this morning had two of James' buddies trash leach and then had the chancellor on saying that he gave Leach every chance in the world. they even named the rundown segment "Blasting Mike Leach". They followed that up with a 30 second segment saying 'On the field he accomplished XYZ'.

I'd be pissed at Baby James right now if I'm on that team if i'm a quarterback or WR. I committed to TT to throw for 5,000 yards and have 1,500 yards receiving. now who knows what kind of offense they're gonna play in.

If only ESPN knew how to use the internet . . .

TT better get some damn good pub from the worldwide leader in sports since they've jumped in bed with ESPN in this matter. And baby James isn't gonna be crap. His days of playing football are will end very soon - no matter how bad daddy wants it to happen.

It's funny how daddy's college (SMU) went downhill due in part to paying players (he was one so I've heard over the years) and now he's helping send another program down the drain.

This story is so leaning in Leach's favor, I wonder whether ESPN pumps up the volume or finally walks away.

My opinion is that they would like to pump up the volume but their might not be any volume on their side left to pump at this point.
