I know they may not be the same thing.

I'm a huge baseball fan but have never gotten around to playing fantasy baseball. I've done fantasy football and golf.

Any help is appreciated.

Easiest is probably pure head to head where you get points for any statistic, 2 points for a double, 3 points for a triple etc. You have a match up each week like in football.

Best is probably season long rotisserie where you play by category, home runs, RBI etc, takes a lot more knowledge and skill though and is probably boring for people not really into it.

We do Roto head to head so it’s a weekly matchup and there’s 6 hitting categories (OBP, runs, HR, RBI, total bases, stolen bases) and 6 pitching categories (Quality starts, ERA, WHIP, strikeouts, saves, holds)

We use those categories just cause it’s what we have always used and have had the same league for years, but now that I’m more experienced I’d prob switch out some categories and put in things like OPS, K/9, etc but that’s probably too overwhelming for beginners

I’m with this. Head to head but with categories. We do 5 hitting 5 pitching who ever wins the most categories wins the week.... it really takes a lot of strategy because you can purposely throw categories to use those roster spots to help other categories

If you do the category way as described above, make sure some type of transaction limit is in place. I played once and figured out that whoever woke up first that day and added that days projected pitching starters to their lineup would win that week easily.
