just b/c ESPN promotes it every 2 minutes of every day leading up to it, doens't mean that actual fans are interested.

No a better mneaure would be that the Rose Bowl is typically the most watched bowl other than the BCS NC game. That is far from the truth for the Sugar Bowl.

I'll say that the Rose Bowl matchups have been more intriguing than the garbase the Sugar Bowl has brought us lately.

The sugar the last 3 years:

LSU/ND - Awful
UGA/Hawaii - Awful
Utah/Bama - ended up as a huge upset but a lot of people weren't turning that game on if they didn't have an interest beforehand

its funny how everyone keeps saying USC never plays anybody good, yet we have played the exact teams that LSU has, like oklahoma and ohio state, ND, guess they havent played anyone good either

No different from Pac-1 apologists saying LSU doesn't play anybody OOC. "Nobody" would include Washington, Arizona, Arizona State (who CHICKENED out of the return trip to Baton Rouge), and Oregon State.

It's funny that just a few years ago, many LSU people bought non-refundable plane tickets at when it looked like LSU was destined for a Rose Bowl berth.

Everyone was all excited about the once in a life time opportunity to play in such a bowl.

Keep racking up those once per year or once per every other year OOC opponents.

No doubt you guys have a tougher overall schedule (with the SEC games). But someone brought up LSU's OOC schedule. That is what I responded to. Just because you play in the toughest conference in the land, you cannot truthfully brag on an OOC, particularly in the case of LSU.

I'm certainly not bragging. I'm tired of playing La Tech and ULL (although I do love beating the Greenies every year). I blame Verne Ausberry but he may be getting insight from Les.

But the pacten plays their fair share of patsies as well. Looking at the 2009 schedule: E. Wash, C. Mich, N. Ari, Idaho St., ULM, Portland St., UNLV, SJSU, SDSU, Idaho, and Hawaii. You guys have to understand how economically important it is for our poor state to play more home games.

SOme sure do. PC does schedule tougher OOC teams, as he does realize the PAC-10 is not as strong as he would like. Would he schedule as tough if the PAC-10 were stronger? I dunno. But historically when the PAC- 10 was not as weak, they have always done so. Good for recruiting and I don't think PC is going to do anything that would possibly mess with recruiting.
