BUT Del just got wore out.

Yep. It was humid today. And for sure he looked whipped.

I've never been 6'6", so I'll refrain from criticizing his conditioning.

I do too. But you have to admire his ability to play a cat-and-mouse match against a guy with Del Potro's talent, and come out on top.

And, it's not like he was just throwing up moon balls. Also, gotta give him credit for winning the match on a hard court (sorta), rather than clay.

yes why is the surface slower this year?

Entertaining match so far between Isner and Dolgo.

They resurfaced them for this year. The courts have a lot more grit, and play a good bit slower. I haven't seen an actually surface rating number, but it's probably not much faster than the Australian open courts.

Wimbledon has also resurfaced the grass and made the courts higher bouncing.

It's a shame. The diversity of the courts between the Slams makes it more interesting. They all think that they can get higher ratings for the TV masses if the men play like the women.

His serve is so dominant that if he is even mediocre off the ground, he is probably at Delpo's level. I have never seen returners so rattled as what Isner is doing to them. He is bouncing it over guys heads. Anyway, Simon is a great contrast next round, but I don't see Isner losing. I think Murray would break him down in the quarters.

Kirilenko/Stosur second set tiebreaker is one of the most amazing things I have seen on a tennis court. Kirilenko won 17-15, had three successful challenges, two of which overturned match points. Plus, she might be the hottest chick in the game.

Bullet, you are correct on the surface. A lot of players complained early that it is slow. Homogenization of surfaces sucks. The Open said it had nothing to do with going to a slower base. I think their excuse was that the courts get faster with more play, and the hurricane and some other stuff prevented that.

Fish Tsonga will be obliterating the ball of the ground, should be pretty fun to watch.

I love Dologopolov's game, him and Djokovic have never played so im curious to see how they match up.

Hes crafty thats for sure, sometimes to a fault
Groundstrokes remind me a lot of my boy from the teenage years S.Grosjean.
With Dolgo having more pop off the backhand.

If hes feeling it and the forehand is dialed in, he could make it interesting....wishful thinking though as Djokovic is on another level all year

I heartily agree on both points.

I was waiting/hoping for the commentator to bait McEnroe by saying that it was the greatest tiebreaker of all time.

I agree, Murray is one of the best returners in the game if not the best. It will force Isner to make adjustments on his first serve for better placement which will lead to a lot of second serve. Isner had a good challenge last night against Bogomolov, even though he won in 3 sets. The match was over two and a half hours long. The difference was that every time Isner faced break point (8 or 9 times I think), his first serve % was 100% and a few of those were aces.

JCF and Tipsy 1 set apiece, already over 2 hours
Each had their opponent retire in the second set in the last round so they should be fresh, it's going to be a long one.
