A pure legend of coaching, he'd make a phenomenal pro HC with the impact his spread approach has made in the league plus he doesn't have to worry about being a moral leader and all that stuff that the college game requires of HCs

Inarguably, and his off the field stuff will likely underrate somewhat how good he was on the field. Make no mistake about it, though, he was a fantastic coach.

Meh. Bowden wrote a letter of leniency for a convicted rapist and attempted murder (former player Michael Gibson) coincidentally after his younger stepbrother committed to FSU. No one holds that against him.

This is why you have to laugh at Michigan fans who continue to think harbaugh is the savior

Because Harbaugh is very clearly not in Urban’s Level?

If that’s what UM wants to search for, then good luck. Could take 20+ years to find that caliber of coach, there’s currently only 2 in CFB (Saban and Dabo- and Dabo is debatable although I think he will continue to solidify himself in that class).

Harbaugh is a good coach. He’s no Saban or Meyer but no one is. He’s probably a top 10 coach and it’s unrealistic to think UM could land someone better.

There is nothing to suggest that he is a top ten coach.

He is terrible in top ten games for starters.

You can't argue with the results, but he's an overall terrible person with a win at all costs attitude.

All the great coaches match that description.

Urban suspended a murderer for the first half of the season opener against Old Dominion for shooting two people though.

Urban Meyer only had two murderers, four rapists and 350 thieves on his team in 17 season's.

What a amazing person. Let's build a statue of him so one day Ohio State can tear it down.

And none of that happened at Ohio State. When kids did have issues there he dealt with it swiftly and in a couple of cases possibly too harshly. Yes, Zach Smith. I get that but the character of the players he recruited to Ohio State was leagues above what he recruited at Florida. So, in that respect he learned from his mistakes and he's admitted it.

If I were Urban, there is only one job that I come back for at this point. He has conquered the SEC and the Big Ten (the two greatest football conferences historically) with national championships at each stop. The only job that is remotely at that level of prestige and where he could cement his legacy as a top 3 or 4 coach of all time (would be hard to top Bear, Saban, and Rockne) is Notre Dame. He would be labled as Christ himself if he were to bring them back to national championship glory.

They (ND) shouldn't be worried about character issues. Holtz was a cheater and Kelly was directly responsible for the death of a student volunteer and he's still there. Honestly, I still can't believe that they fired O'Leary for that stupid resume thing back when he was hired in 2001.

Read this yesterday. Since 1993 Ohio State has 60 losses. The next closest is Florida State with 82. Of those 60 losses in 25 years 21 came in four seasons (99, 00, 01 and 11). Almost 40% of their losses in 25 years were in four seasons.

behind Bryant

He’s ahead of Bryant.

Bryant coached in an era with no rules.

Bama fans love him and for good reason but Saban is light years ahead of Bryant.
