UFC Championship fights should be 3 rounds

The 5 round setup leads to a slower pace more often than not and more boring fight for the viewer. Make it 3 rounds so the stakes are higher and the fights are more exciting,

If it’s a close fight with no finishes after 3, then Dana White can thumbs up/down to extend it two rounds like Caesar at the Coliseum.

Anyone else disappointed in the amount of boring headliner fights over the past few years? Would this help?

I agree. 5 round fights are usually pretty boring

Just because you have to wait so long to see mcGregor fight at Buffalo Wild Wings doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of great headliners

5 rounds allows the outcomes to be more conclusive if it goes the distance and they also get your more sponsorship money.

Sometimes it makes it more conclusive. I don’t like the “championship rounds count more” argument though.

Why not? Cardio is important and champions and contenders are in the cage to who wants it more. 3 rounds is not nearly enough

Who in their right mind doesn’t want to see more of the top fighters?

More doesn’t equal better in most cases is what I’m saying. Five rounds dilutes the fight and leads to slow starts and boring rounds.

And I thought the thumbs up/down covered the “conclusive” angle

By lessening the number of rounds, I’m assuming you want to incentivize more action.

Unlimited rounds. 1 minute each. Fight can only be stopped by ref stoppage, knockout, or submission. If it takes seventeen rounds of crazy swinging and exhaustion, oh well.

Might as well take the lethwei model, you can recover from one knockout during the fight.
