greatest golfer ever

I grew up watching Jack in his prime and he was the greatest. Emphasis on was.

I saw Tiger in a youth tournament in the early '90s and you could tell he was something special then. Not only is he dominating physically, but mentally he's head and shoulders above everyone else.

First of all, I'm very young, so that's a lie. Second, there's a HUGE difference between liking someone and respecting them. I don't like Tiger very much. I respect the hell out of him, though. He's amazing. I think as of now, Jack's still the GOAT (i.e. if Tiger retired today/never won again/got injured, etc), but I'd be stunned if it's not Tiger by the end of his career.

Tiger wins 30% of the tournys he plays. I don't think Jack was close to that against weaker fields.

So since you respect him. Lets find out exactly what you respect. Do you respect his game only? Do you respect that he's a good human being and does numerous charitable works? Do you respect that he's a good family man? If you respect all of those things, then you should like the guy. At least I think you should. I'm thinking you only respect his golf game though. Because all of those things are what encompasses the greatness that is Tiger Woods.

As I said earlier, I saw Jack during just about all of his career. Different times, different courses, different equipment. I wouldn't say Jack competed against weaker fields.

When I was a little kid, I'd go all the time to the Memorial Tournament, including practice rounds. There, if you basically talked to any of the golfers/wish them good luck/asked them for their autograph, they'd be happy to oblige, say "hey buddy" to you, nod their head and smile at you, etc. One of the only ones that wouldn't was Tiger. He would just ignore you and walk on by. He was like a robot. That always left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't care if you guys think that's a stupid reason or not, but that's why. I love the guys that appreciate/recognize the fans, especially the young kids. So there's your reason. Sorry if you think it's "dumb".

If tiger did this to everybody it would take him 5 hours to get from the 18th green to the clubhouse.

Now I do, as well. When I was little, though (around 8-10 yrs old), I wasn't like that. And I just still remember that.
